Begonia 'Curly Fireflush' is an exceptional rex begonia admired for its richly textured foliage and distinctive spiral leaf formation. Large dark green leaves feature deeper shading around the edges and centre, while a tightly curled spiral at the heart of each leaf creates remarkable depth and character.
One of its most distinctive features is the covering of vivid red hairs that cloak the stems and foliage, particularly on emerging leaves where the fiery colouring is at its most intense. This combination of dramatic foliage, intricate texture and bold colouring makes 'Curly Fireflush' a true collector's plant and a standout feature in any indoor display.

Begonia Care Sheet
Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and fade the dramatic foliage colours.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost begin to dry. Keep lightly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering during winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a free-draining houseplant compost mixed with perlite and fine bark. Feed every two to four weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Position near other houseplants or use a humidifier if indoor air is particularly dry. Avoid misting directly onto the leaves.
Pruning and propagation: Remove damaged or ageing leaves as required. Propagate through leaf cuttings or division of mature plants.
