Astilbe 'Key West'
Astilbe 'Key West' is a compact, colourful perennial with feathery raspberry-red flower plumes that gradually soften to pink as they mature. The flowers rise on reddish stems above finely divided foliage, creating a rich and elegant display.
Its foliage provides additional interest, emerging red before developing bronze-green tones with attractive red margins. Flowering from mid to late summer, 'Key West' offers a longer display than many Astilbe varieties and is highly attractive to bees and other pollinators.
Ideal for shaded borders, woodland gardens, containers and mass planting, this easy-care perennial thrives in organically rich, evenly moist soil. It does not tolerate dry conditions, so regular watering and a layer of mulch will help keep the roots cool and moist.
