Astilbe 'Delft Lace'
Astilbe 'Delft Lace' is a striking perennial forming a robust clump of finely cut, deep blue-green foliage with attractive red highlights. The waxy leaves may also develop rich burgundy tones during autumn, extending its seasonal interest.
In early summer, strong red stems carry elegant plumes of deep salmon-red buds that open into soft apricot-pink flowers. As the blooms fade, deep red seed heads remain above the foliage, continuing the display through summer.
Ideal for shaded borders, woodland gardens, patio containers and mass planting, 'Delft Lace' performs best in fertile, moist soil that does not dry out. The flowers are attractive to bees and are also excellent for cutting, while the strong stems help create a neat and dependable garden display.
