Arenaria purpurescens
Arenaria purpurescens is a compact alpine perennial forming a low mat of green foliage. Its neat, spreading habit makes it a useful choice for softening sunny rock gardens, gravel edges, troughs and the front of borders.
In spring and early summer, it produces a bright display of pink and purple flowers above the foliage. Best in free-draining soil, it is particularly well suited to sunny, gritty positions where it can stay compact and floriferous.
