Arbutus unedo
Arbutus unedo, commonly known as the Strawberry Tree, is a handsome evergreen shrub or small tree. It bears clusters of delicate, urn-shaped white flowers in autumn, often appearing alongside its striking strawberry-like red fruits that take a year to mature. The contrast of flowers and fruits together is a unique ornamental feature. Its attractive reddish-brown, peeling bark and leathery green foliage provide year-round interest, while the fruits offer food for birds and wildlife.
