Angelica archangelica
Angelica archangelica forms majestic, architectural spikes holding dome-like heads of bright, light green flowers and seed pods, from June to July. Fragrant, pollinator friendly and wonderful in cut flower arrangements. Its great height makes this a perfect plant to use at the back of any sunny border.
This variety of Angelica also has many culinary uses, its sweet smelling pink stems can be candied and used to decorate cakes, and its roots have been known to add a lovely umami flavour to gin.
