Amelanchier canadensis 'Rainbow Pillar'
Amelanchier 'Rainbow Pillar', also known as 'Glenn Form', is a deciduous shrub or small tree with an elegant, upright habit. Its naturally narrow shape provides architectural height without overwhelming smaller gardens or restricted planting spaces.
Clusters of star-shaped white flowers appear in spring, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. These are followed by edible blue-black berries in summer, which may be harvested or left for visiting birds such as blackbirds and thrushes.
The green foliage develops a spectacular mixture of yellow, orange and fiery red shades in autumn. Hardy and easy to grow, 'Rainbow Pillar' performs best in full sun or partial shade and moist, well-drained, lime-free soil, with the strongest autumn colour produced in full sun.
