Amelanchier canadensis 'Prince William'
Amelanchier 'Prince William' is a compact, upright deciduous shrub offering several seasons of interest. In early spring it produces an abundance of pure white, star-shaped flowers, creating an attractive display before the foliage fully develops.
The flowers are valuable to early pollinators and are followed by sweet, edible blue-purple berries in summer. These can be enjoyed fresh or used in jams and desserts, while also providing a useful food source for garden birds.
Dark green summer foliage develops vivid shades of orange and red in autumn, extending the seasonal display. Hardy and adaptable, 'Prince William' performs well in full sun or partial shade and is ideal for mixed borders, informal hedging, woodland edges or as an attractive standalone specimen.
