Amelanchier canadensis 'October Flame'
Amelanchier 'October Flame' is a compact deciduous tree offering excellent interest across several seasons. In autumn, its foliage develops brilliant shades of fiery red and orange, creating a particularly striking display as temperatures begin to fall.
In early spring, masses of delicate, star-shaped white flowers appear before or alongside the emerging foliage. These are followed by small purple-black berries that are edible and particularly attractive to birds, adding valuable wildlife interest during the summer months.
With its neat, upright habit and manageable size, 'October Flame' is an excellent choice for smaller gardens, mixed borders and wildlife-friendly planting. It also makes an attractive specimen tree where its spring blossom and outstanding autumn colour can be fully appreciated.
