Adromischus marianae f. herrei 'Pink Coral'
Adromischus marianae f. herrei 'Pink Coral' is a compact, slow-growing succulent with plump, irregularly shaped leaves covered in distinctive bumps and ridges. The foliage can develop reddish to purplish tones in bright light, adding colour to its unusual, sculptural appearance.
Gradually forming a small, branching clump, this fascinating plant is well suited to bright windowsills and succulent collections. Its modest size makes it ideal for small pots, where the textured foliage can be appreciated up close.
- Other names: Adromischus marianiae 'Pink Coral'
- Feature: Thick, heavily textured leaves with colouring that varies according to growing conditions
- Care: Allow the compost to dry completely between waterings and handle carefully, as leaves can detach easily
- Eventual height: Approximately 10cm
- Origins: Cultivated selection of a plant native to South Africa
Adromischus Care
Light: Provide bright light with some direct sunshine. Introduce stronger sunlight gradually and protect from scorching midday sun through glass.
Water: Allow the compost to dry completely before watering, then drain thoroughly. Never leave the pot standing in water.
Humidity: Normal indoor humidity is suitable. Avoid misting and provide good air circulation.
Temperature: Keep frost-free, ideally above 7°C. Avoid cold draughts and cold, wet compost.
Feeding: Apply a diluted cactus fertiliser occasionally during active growth, following the product instructions.
Repotting: Use a gritty, freely draining cactus and succulent compost in a pot with drainage holes. Move into a slightly larger pot only when necessary.
Seasonal care: Reduce watering substantially in winter. If growth slows during very hot weather, allow longer dry periods between waterings.
Experience level: Moderate
