Early in September Alan, Dylan, Lewis and Lynsey attended the Garden Centre Association (GCA) regional awards held at Tong Garden Centre where we were awarded ‘Best Garden Centre’ in the North East region! We now go forward with a chance to be awarded the best in the country.
We were also delighted to find out that we have been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Ruxley Rose’ national completion for best plant area, we have won this award for the past 10 years but will have to wait until January to find out the winners of both national competitions. Fingers crossed we can carry on our winning streak!
GCA Inspector Alyson Haywood was responsible for inspecting member garden centres in the North East area. She said: “Cowell’s had very high standards of retailing and showed creativity and inspiration, all combined with it's fantastic customer service and superb plant ranges and quality.”
We are always looking for new and interesting ways to inspire our customers and it was wonderful this was recognised by Alyson and we were awarded the Barton Grange Trophy for Commercial Innovation and Creativity.
Following our success at the awards Martin Cowell (Director) commented: “After such a difficult 18 months for everyone it is wonderful to have something to celebrate and receive recognition for the continued hard work and enthusiasm of our fantastic team here at Cowell’s.”
