Plant Peonies Now for Years of Beautiful Flowers
Peonies are famous for their magnificent late-spring and early-summer flowers, but autumn is one of the best times to plant them.
With the soil still warm, planting now gives the roots time to begin settling into their new position before winter. The plants can then establish naturally, ready to produce fresh growth when spring returns.
Our exceptional collection of Peonies has been grown here at Cowell’s and includes a wonderful choice of colours and flower forms. From romantic pink and white doubles to rich reds, corals and striking yellow intersectional varieties, there is something to suit almost every garden.

Our planting advice
Choose a sunny or lightly shaded position with fertile, well-drained soil. Peonies dislike sitting in wet ground and should not be planted too deeply, so position your plant at approximately the same level at which it has been growing in its pot.
Water thoroughly after planting and avoid disturbing it once established. It may take a little time for a newly planted Peony to settle, but an established plant can reward you with magnificent flowers for many years.
This is an online-only offer on selected varieties and is available while stocks last. The offer ends at midnight on Sunday 27 September 2026.
