Syringa vulgaris 'Andenken an Ludwig Späth' is a classic deciduous lilac celebrated for its richly scented, deep reddish-purple flower panicles that appear in late spring. The dramatic blooms are held above heart-shaped green leaves, creating a bold and highly fragrant display.
This tall, upright and vigorous shrub is ideal for adding structure, colour and perfume to borders, hedges and traditional cottage gardens. Its dark, velvety flowers provide excellent contrast against the fresh green foliage and make outstanding cut flowers for indoor arrangements.
