Syngonium wendlandii
An elegant Syngonium with deep green, velvety leaves and striking silvery-white central veins. Its arrowhead foliage gives it a lush, tropical feel, and it stays compact in early growth before developing a climbing habit over time.
- Other names: Velvet Syngonium, Silver Goosefoot
- Useful to know: Not safe for pets – toxic if ingested
- Eventual height: Can reach up to 60–90cm with support
- Origins: Native to Central America, particularly Costa Rica
Syngonium Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can adapt to moderate light levels, but avoid direct sunlight.
Water: Allow the top of the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly and let excess drain away.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a well-draining houseplant mix. Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced fertiliser.
Humidity: Enjoys higher humidity. Mist regularly or place near a humidifier for best growth.
Pruning & Propagation: Prune to shape and control vining growth. Easy to propagate via stem cuttings in water or soil.
