Skimmia japonica 'White Globe'® (M)
Skimmia 'White Globe' is a compact, evergreen male variety bearing panicles of small lime-green flower buds throughout the winter which open to creamy-white flowers in spring. Its neat, rounded habit, glossy green foliage and masses of fragrant, creamy-white flowers held in dense, spherical clusters light up shaded parts of the garden. Its year-round structure and floral display make it an excellent choice for winter and spring interest.
As a male Skimmia, ‘White Globe’® does not produce berries, but it is an excellent pollinator for female varieties, ensuring they set a heavy crop of colourful fruits. Its compact growth makes it perfect for pots, borders, and shaded garden corners where evergreen structure is needed.
