Piper ornatum
Piper ornatum is a striking tropical foliage plant admired for its richly patterned leaves marked with silvery-pink veining and deep green tones, often complemented by burgundy undersides. Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Keep lightly moist but never soggy. Allow the top layer of compost to dry slightly between watering.
Soil/Nutrition: Free-draining, airy houseplant mix. Feed monthly during active growth in spring and summer.
Humidity: Prefers higher humidity; benefits from humid rooms or grouping with other plants.
Pruning and propagation: Trim to control size and encourage bushier growth. Propagate easily from stem cuttings.
