Pinguicula esseriana
Pinguicula esseriana is a charming, compact carnivorous plant forming a neat rosette of pale green, succulent-like leaves with a soft, slightly glossy surface. The delicate foliage is edged with a subtle pale border, and in season it produces elegant, pale chalk-blue flowers that hover above the plant.
Perfect for bright windowsills with gentle light, it works beautifully in small pots, terrariums or grouped with other carnivorous plants. Its petite size and unusual insect-catching leaves make it an ideal choice for adding interest to compact indoor spaces.

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. East or west-facing windows are perfect
Water: Keep slightly moist using rainwater or distilled water. Stand on a tray with damp capillary matting or shallow water
Soil/Nutrition: Use nutrient-poor, free-draining carnivorous plant compost. Do not use fertiliser
Humidity: Prefers moderate humidity but adapts well to indoor conditions

Pinguicula Plant Care
Watering
Do not overwater the Pinguicula, as this can cause rotting. Keeping the soil slightly moist is enough for the plant to survive. Pinguicula doesn’t need rainwater and grows fine on tap water.
Location
A light location, out of direct sunlight is ideal for the Pinguicula. This can be inside or outside, but keep in mind that the plants we sell are not hardy and must overwinter inside.
Fertilizer
As with all carnivorous plants, we do not recommend giving them fertilizer.
