Philodendron spiritus-sancti is one of the rarest and most coveted houseplants in existence, often referred to as the Holy Grail of Philodendrons. This extraordinary species is instantly recognisable by its long, narrow, sword-shaped leaves in deep, glossy green, creating an elegant, sculptural silhouette unlike any other Philodendron.
Critically endangered in the wild and native to Espírito Santo, Brazil, this exceptional plant is best suited to bright indoor spaces where warmth and humidity can be carefully controlled. Ideal for plant cabinets or specialist collections, it rewards attentive care with slow, steady growth and unrivalled collector status.

Philodendron Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but tolerates medium light. Avoid direct sun, which may scorch the leaves.
Water: Water when the top 3–4cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a rich, free-draining aroid mix with perlite and bark. Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity. Mist regularly or place near a humidifier.
Pruning & Propagation: Remove old or yellowing leaves. Propagates easily from stem cuttings with a node.
