Magnolia × soulangeana 'Andre Leroy' is a magnificent deciduous flowering tree producing large, elegant cup-shaped blooms in spring. The flowers are rich purple-pink on the outside with a pure white interior, creating a striking two-tone effect that stands out beautifully against the bare branches.

Introduced by the renowned French horticulturist André Leroy in Angers during the late nineteenth century, this distinguished variety is prized for flowering from a young age and for its particularly impressive floral display. The blooms measure approximately 7.5-15cm across and are lightly fragrant, adding both visual appeal and scent to the spring garden.

Forming a graceful rounded crown with elegantly spreading branches, 'Andre Leroy' makes an outstanding specimen tree for lawns, borders and larger gardens. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade and requires very little pruning once established.
