Lemongrass is a tender, clump-forming grass grown for its highly aromatic foliage and culinary uses. The long, slender green leaves release a fresh citrus fragrance when brushed or crushed, making it a wonderful addition to patios, herb gardens, and greenhouse displays.
Widely used in Asian cuisine, the swollen stems can be harvested fresh to add a zesty lemon flavour to soups, curries, teas, and marinades. Best grown in a warm, sunny position with well-drained soil, Lemongrass thrives in containers where it can easily be moved indoors over winter in cooler climates.
