Ilex crenata 'Convexa'
Ilex crenata 'Convexa' is a dense, evergreen shrub with small, glossy dark green leaves that curve gently downwards. Its neat foliage and naturally compact, bushy habit give it a refined appearance throughout the year.
Small white flowers appear in late spring and early summer, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. As a female variety, 'Convexa' may produce glossy black berries in autumn when a suitable male holly is growing nearby for pollination.
Ideal for low hedging, topiary, containers and structured borders, this versatile Japanese Holly responds well to regular clipping. It performs best in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade and benefits from shelter from cold, drying winds.
