Gaultheria procumbens 'Big Berry'®
Gaultheria 'Big Berry'® is a compact, evergreen groundcover shrub prized for its glossy green foliage and abundance of large, bright red berries from autumn through to winter. In summer, small, white, bell-shaped flowers appear among the dark green leaves, which release a pleasant wintergreen fragrance when crushed. Its glossy green foliage creates an attractive backdrop for the showy fruit, which is larger and more abundant than in typical varieties. As autumn arrives, the foliage often develops rich red and bronze tones, adding extra seasonal colour.
Perfect for borders, containers, and woodland planting, ‘Big Berry’® thrives in acidic, well-drained soil and partial shade. Hardy and low-growing, it forms a dense carpet of foliage and berries, bringing year-round interest and vibrant colour through the colder months.
