An elegant, evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green leaves and beautifully fragrant, creamy-white blooms. A classic houseplant or conservatory favourite known for its rich jasmine-like scent and timeless appeal.

Gardenia Care Sheet
Light: Requires bright, indirect light or a few hours of morning sun. Prefers stable temperatures above 15°C.
Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Use tepid, lime-free water and avoid letting it dry out.
Soil/Nutrition: Acidic, well-draining compost (ericaceous mix recommended). Feed fortnightly in spring and summer with a fertiliser for acid-loving plants.
Humidity: Needs high humidity – mist regularly or place on a pebble tray. Avoid dry, drafty areas.
Pruning & Propagation: Deadhead faded flowers and lightly prune after flowering to shape. Can be propagated from semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
Experience level: Intermediate – can be a little fussy, but rewarding
