Dianthus 'Shooting Star'
Dianthus 'Shooting Star' is a compact evergreen perennial that forms a low mound of narrow grey-green foliage. Its tidy habit makes it well suited to sunny border edges, rockeries and decorative containers.
Fragrant magenta-pink flowers with ruby freckles and softly fringed petals appear from late spring through summer. The nectar-rich flowers are attractive to bees, butterflies and moths.
Plant in full sun in free-draining neutral or alkaline soil. Deadheading faded flowers encourages repeat blooming and helps retain the plant's compact shape.
