Cyclamen persicum ABSOLU® 'Sublima'
Cyclamen persicum ABSOLU® Sublima is a fragrant flowering houseplant producing large, pink Victoria-type flowers with a distinctive crown-shaped form. A subtle lily-of-the-valley scent adds to its appeal, while dense, dark green foliage with marbled markings provides an attractive contrast.
Its neatly rounded habit suits windowsills and tabletops in cool, bright rooms away from radiators. Selected for early flowering and large blooms from the start of the season, it brings colour and gentle fragrance to autumn indoor displays.
- Other names: Persian Cyclamen, Florist's Cyclamen
- Useful to know: Toxic if ingested - keep away from pets and children
- Feature: Large, crown-shaped pink flowers with a subtle lily-of-the-valley scent
- Eventual size: Approximately 30–32cm tall and 20–24cm wide
- Origins: Bred by Morel in France; the species is native to the eastern Mediterranean
Cyclamen Care
Light: Position in bright, indirect light, away from strong direct sunshine.
Water: Water when the compost surface starts to dry. Stand the pot briefly in shallow water, then allow it to drain thoroughly. Avoid wetting the crown and never leave the pot standing in water.
Humidity: Provide moderate humidity and gentle ventilation. Avoid misting the flowers and foliage.
Temperature: Cool conditions around 10–16°C help prolong flowering. Keep away from radiators, hot rooms and frost.
Feeding: Apply a low-nitrogen liquid fertiliser fortnightly while actively growing, following the product instructions.
Flower care: Remove faded flowers and yellow leaves by gently twisting and pulling their stems away from the base.
Dormancy: After flowering, reduce watering as the leaves yellow. Keep almost dry during summer dormancy, then gradually resume watering when new growth appears in autumn.
Experience level: Moderate
