Cotoneaster procumbens 'Queen of Carpets'
Cotoneaster 'Queen of Carpets' is a low-growing, evergreen shrub that forms a dense mat of glossy green leaves, creating an excellent groundcover effect. In early summer, clusters of small white flowers appear, attracting bees and other pollinators. These are followed in autumn by a profusion of bright red-orange berries, which provide both seasonal colour and a valuable food source for birds and wildlife.
Compact and hardy, this reliable shrub is ideal for covering banks, slopes, or filling gaps at the front of borders. Its neat habit makes it particularly useful for smaller gardens, where it offers year-round interest in a modest space. Low-maintenance and versatile, it thrives in sun or partial shade and well-drained soil.
