Cornus alba 'Elegantissima'
Cornus 'Elegantissima' is a vigorous deciduous shrub valued for its striking variegated foliage and brilliant winter stem colour. In spring, the leaves emerge mid-green with irregular creamy-white margins, creating a fresh and attractive display through the growing season.
As autumn approaches, the foliage develops warm orange and yellow tones before falling to reveal a dense framework of deep red stems. These colourful stems provide excellent winter interest and are particularly effective when planted in groups or against evergreen foliage.
Hardy and easy to grow, 'Elegantissima' develops a dense, suckering habit that makes it useful for borders, wildlife gardens and larger planting schemes. The flowers attract pollinating insects, while the berries provide an additional food source for birds.
