Clematis 'Henryi'
Clematis 'Henryi' is a classic large-flowered clematis renowned for its magnificent pure white blooms, often reaching up to 20cm across. Each flower is beautifully highlighted by contrasting chocolate-brown anthers, creating an elegant display from early summer and often again in late summer.
This vigorous deciduous climber is ideal for training over walls, fences, arches, pergolas, and obelisks, where its luminous flowers can brighten even partially shaded areas of the garden. The large blooms stand out particularly well against dark foliage or when combined with climbing roses and other clematis varieties.
Reliable and easy to grow, 'Henryi' performs best with its roots kept cool and moist while the stems and flowers enjoy sunshine or light shade. It belongs to Pruning Group 2, requiring only light pruning in late winter or early spring.
