Clematis 'Elpis'™ - New for 2025
‘Elpis’™ is a compact, deciduous climber bred by renowned clematis breeder Raymond J. Evison. It produces an abundance of deep rich red, rounded flowers measuring 10–12 cm across, each adorned with contrasting yellow anthers. Flowering freely from May through July, with a reliable repeat bloom in September, the vibrant blooms hold their colour exceptionally well with little to no fading. The plant's strong, vibrant green foliage provides a perfect backdrop for the striking blooms.
Named in association with the charities MUG (Male Uprising Guernsey) and Prostate Cancer Research, ‘Elpis’—the Greek goddess of hope—symbolises hope in the fight against male cancers.
