Clematis 'Elpis'
Clematis 'Elpis' is a stunning compact deciduous climber bred by renowned clematis specialist Raymond J. Evison. It produces masses of deep rich red flowers measuring 10-12cm across, each beautifully contrasted by prominent yellow anthers. The blooms are held against vibrant green foliage and retain their colour exceptionally well with very little fading.
Flowering freely from May through to July, followed by a reliable second flush in September, this patio clematis provides an extended season of colour. Its compact habit makes it perfect for containers, obelisks, patios and smaller garden spaces where bold vertical interest is desired.
Named in support of the charities MUG (Male Uprising Guernsey) and Prostate Cancer Research, ‘Elpis’ - named after the Greek goddess of hope - symbolises hope in the fight against male cancers.
