Callicarpa bodinieri 'Profusion'
Callicarpa 'Profusion' is a striking deciduous shrub prized for its remarkable clusters of vivid purple berries, which develop along the upright stems in autumn. The jewel-like fruits create an eye-catching display as the garden moves into the cooler months.
Small lilac-pink flowers appear in summer, followed by the distinctive berries, while the green foliage develops attractive autumn colour before falling. The berry-covered stems are also excellent for cutting and using in seasonal arrangements.
Easy to grow and relatively low maintenance, 'Profusion' is ideal for mixed borders, wildlife-friendly gardens and naturalistic planting schemes. For the best display of berries, grow in a sunny or partially shaded position in fertile, well-drained soil.
