DocBlock Anthurium 'Dark & Handsome' is an exceptional collector's Anthurium prized for its deep, dark foliage and luxurious velvet appearance. Strong leaf structure, rich colour intensity and prominent contrasting veins give the plant a powerful and elegant appearance.
New foliage can emerge in rich chocolate tones before developing deeper green shades as it matures, while the velvety surface and distinctive venation remain a prominent feature. Best grown in bright, indirect light with warmth and good humidity, 'Dark & Handsome' makes an impressive focal point in a specialist houseplant collection.

Anthurium Care Sheet
Light: Bright light, but no direct sun. Hot, direct sunlight can cause scorch marks on the leaves that look like dry, brown patches. Ideally kept in temperatures above 15°C and away from cold draughts
Water: Water thoroughly to ensure that all the roots are watered, and allow excess to run off. Wait till the top couple inches of potting mix is dry before watering again. Water less often in autumn and winter, but don't allow potting medium to dry out. Yellow leaves indicate over-watering
Soil/Nutrition: Coarse, well-draining houseplant or orchid potting mix, feed monthly in spring and summer
Humidity: Enjoys high humidity. Place with other plants, or use a pebble tray to replicate the humid rainforest environment. Do not mist leaves, as this can cause brown marks
Pruning and propagation: Remove old, faded leaves and flowers, and keep leaves dust free. Can be propagated by either stem cuttings or by splitting the plant in spring
