Allium 'Millennium'
Allium 'Millennium' is one of the finest summer-flowering ornamental alliums, valued for its compact habit, glossy foliage and outstanding garden performance. It forms neat, upright clumps of thick, strappy green leaves that remain attractive throughout the growing season and release a light onion scent when crushed, helping to deter pests.
From late July through August, strong, sturdy stems rise just above the foliage, each topped with a perfectly rounded flowerhead of bright rosy-purple blooms. These tightly packed clusters are long-lasting and exceptionally vibrant, providing valuable late-summer colour when many perennials are beginning to fade.
Highly attractive to bees and butterflies yet reliably rabbit resistant, ‘Millennium’ is easy to grow and thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. Its tidy size makes it ideal for sunny borders, gravel gardens, prairie-style planting and containers, where it delivers structure, movement and colour with minimal maintenance.
