Plant lily of the valley

Plant fibrous bulbs of Lily of the valley for a scented floral display from May onwards. Soak bulbs in luke warm water for a couple of hours before planting and snip away one in (2.5cm) of the fibrous roots to kick start growth. Site in free-draining soil in beds that receive some shade. Aim to have tops just beneath the soil surface. ;
