Tradescantia zebrina - Silver Sicilian
Tradescantia zebrina ‘Silver Sicilian’ is a vibrant, fast-growing houseplant prized for its colourful, trailing foliage. The leaves are silvery green through the centre with rich purple margins and undersides, creating bold contrast and a shimmering effect that stands out among greener indoor plants.
Exceptionally hardy and adaptable, this variety thrives in bright rooms and can tolerate full sun, where its colours become even more intense. Perfect for shelves, hanging baskets, or windowsills, it brings cascading colour and texture to any indoor display.

Tradescantia Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright light and tolerates direct sun. Brighter conditions enhance leaf colour; low light results in greener foliage
Water: Water regularly during active growth, allowing the top of the compost to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid waterlogging
Soil/Nutrition: Use a well-draining houseplant compost. Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser
Humidity: Enjoys average household humidity and adapts well to most indoor environments
Pruning and propagation: Pinch back stems to encourage bushier growth. Propagate easily from stem cuttings placed in water or soil
