Hylotelephium telephium (Atropurpureum Group) 'Purple Emperor' is a striking herbaceous perennial grown for its dramatic deep bronze-purple succulent foliage and large clusters of rich red-purple flowers from late summer into autumn. In certain light conditions, the foliage can appear almost black, creating superb contrast in sunny planting schemes.
