Polemonium 'Bressingham Purple'
Polemonium 'Bressingham Purple' is a distinctive and beautifully coloured form of Jacob’s Ladder, valued for its elegant fern-like foliage and rich seasonal colour. The attractive green leaves are heavily flushed with purple tones and arranged in the characteristic ladder-like pattern that gives the plant its common name.
During late spring, clusters of slightly fragrant cobalt-blue flowers are carried above the foliage on striking burgundy stems. The blooms sway gently in the breeze, bringing movement, texture and vibrant colour to borders, woodland gardens and mixed perennial plantings.
The foliage develops even deeper purple colouring during cooler weather, ensuring ornamental interest both before and after flowering. Thriving in partial shade and cooler conditions, 'Bressingham Purple' is particularly effective in woodland-style gardens and shaded borders where its unique foliage colour can be fully appreciated.
