Opuntia microdasys var. albispina
Opuntia microdasys var. albispina is an attractive miniature cactus with flat, pad-like stems covered in dense clusters of soft-looking white glochids. These “bunny ear” pads create a sculptural, playful appearance that stands out beautifully in modern interiors. Its pure white spines give it a clean, bright look compared to the yellow-spined form.
Perfect for sunny windowsills, warm conservatories, or bright desks, this compact cactus thrives in dry, bright conditions and brings a bold architectural element to any succulent display. Despite its soft appearance, the glochids are sharp—so handle with care.

Cactus Care Sheet
Light: Requires full sun or the brightest light available indoors. South- or west-facing windows are ideal
Water: Water sparingly. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water even less in winter when growth slows
Soil/Nutrition: Use a fast-draining cactus mix with added grit or sand. Feed lightly during spring and summer with diluted cactus fertiliser
Humidity: Prefers low humidity. Keep in a dry environment and avoid misting
Pruning and propagation: Remove damaged pads carefully using gloves or tongs. Propagate easily from pads left to callous, then rooted in dry soil
