Meconopsis baileyi 'Hensol Violet'
Meconopsis baileyi 'Hensol Violet' is a rare and captivating Himalayan poppy producing exquisite pink-to-violet flowers with subtle red tones and contrasting golden centres. Its elegant blooms offer a beautiful alternative to the traditional blue forms, bringing a touch of the exotic to shaded gardens.
Flowering prolifically from May to June, the silky blooms are held on upright stems above attractive green foliage, creating a stunning display in cool, sheltered positions. The soft, luminous flowers stand out beautifully amongst ferns, hostas and other woodland favourites.
Best grown in cool, moist, humus-rich soil, 'Hensol Violet' thrives in dappled shade where it can be protected from hot afternoon sun. Although it appreciates consistent moisture, the reward is one of the most enchanting and sought-after flowering perennials for woodland gardens.
