Lupinus West Country 'Salmon Star' is a striking hardy perennial producing tall flower spikes of lilac buds that gradually open to soft salmon-pink blooms in early summer. The elegant bi-coloured flowers rise above attractive palmate green foliage, creating superb vertical interest in borders and cottage garden planting schemes.
Bred by the renowned West Country Nurseries, this impressive lupin is ideal for adding structure and vibrant seasonal colour to the middle or back of borders. Its nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees and pollinating insects, while the bold flower spikes also make excellent cut flowers.
Best grown in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, where it will return reliably year after year with minimal maintenance.
