Iris germanica 'Joanna'
Iris germanica 'Joanna' is a dramatic tall bearded iris producing large, richly coloured blooms in deep violet-purple with slightly lighter standards and a warm golden beard. The velvety petals create a luxurious effect in the border, standing tall above upright fans of sword-like grey-green foliage.
Flowering in late spring, this hardy perennial adds bold colour and strong vertical structure to sunny borders and mixed perennial planting. Like most bearded irises, it performs best in full sun and well-drained soil where the rhizomes sit close to the soil surface.
