Helleborus argutifolius
Helleborus argutifolius, also known as the Corsican Hellebore, is a bold evergreen perennial with a strong architectural presence. It forms a mound of leathery, deeply divided green leaves with sharply toothed edges, providing structure and colour throughout the year.
From late winter into spring (February to April), sturdy stems carry clusters of cup-shaped, pale green flowers that are long-lasting and subtly elegant. These blooms attract early pollinators, bringing welcome life to the garden when few other plants are in flower. Hardy and dependable, it thrives in partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil, and is particularly effective in woodland gardens, shaded borders, or naturalistic planting schemes.
