Fatsia japonica is a bold and architectural evergreen shrub grown for its large, glossy, deeply lobed leaves that provide year-round interest. Native to Japan, it is an excellent choice for adding lush, tropical-looking foliage to shaded gardens and sheltered planting schemes.
Thriving in partial shade, this reliable shrub is remarkably adaptable and will tolerate a wide range of soil types. In autumn, mature plants produce clusters of creamy-white flowers held above the foliage, followed by attractive black berries that add further seasonal interest.
