Cotyledon undulata
A sculptural succulent with thick, powdery silver leaves and beautifully wavy margins. Forms a compact rosette on a short stem and makes a striking focal point in bright, dry interiors.
- Other names: Silver Ruffles, Silver Crown, Rippled Cotyledon
- Useful to know: Not safe for pets - toxic if ingested
- Eventual height: Up to 30 - 40cm
- Origins: South Africa
Cotyledon Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright light with several hours of direct sun. A sunny windowsill or greenhouse is ideal.
Water: Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly and reduce in winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a very free-draining cactus or succulent mix. Feed lightly once or twice in spring and summer with diluted cactus fertiliser.
Humidity: Thrives in dry air - do not mist.
Pruning and propagation: Remove old leaves to keep rosettes tidy. Propagates easily from leaf or stem cuttings once calloused.
