Convallaria majalis
Convallaria majalis, commonly known as Lily of the Valley or May Bells, is a delightful woodland perennial valued for its exquisite fragrance and elegant, nodding white flowers. Blooming in spring, the dainty bell-shaped flowers are borne above lush green foliage, filling shady corners of the garden with scent and charm.
Growing from spreading underground rhizomes, this hardy plant gradually forms a dense carpet, making it an excellent ground cover for shaded areas beneath trees and shrubs. Compact yet vigorous, it also performs beautifully in pots and containers where its fragrance can be fully appreciated. An RHS Award of Garden Merit plant, it is both reliable and easy to grow.
