Creating Our Tropical Jungle

A little inspiration from home has grown into something special at Cowell’s. Some of our Plant Team, inspired by their own vivariums, had the idea of creating a larger tropical display for our special houseplants. Follow the build below, from the first pieces of wood to our finished indoor jungle.

An idea takes root - Our team wanted to bring their enthusiasm for growing tropical plants into the garden centre, creating a display full of lush foliage, texture and interest.

Building the backdrop - The team created and fitted the backing boards, setting the scene for the planting and giving our tropical jungle its shape.

Bringing in natural texture - Foraged wood and moss helped bring the display to life, creating a woodland feel with plenty of character.

Lighting the jungle - Grow lighting was installed to support the plants and illuminate the colours, shapes and textures of their foliage.

Adding the finishing touches - A decorative mister adds atmosphere, while a humidity meter helps our team keep an eye on conditions inside the vivarium. Plus one large piece of perspex for the front!

Time for the plants - With everything in place, our special houseplants took centre stage, turning the structure into a lush tropical display.
