Summer-prune wisteria

Give wisterias their summer prune, cutting back all those whippy sideshoots they've been growing this summer back to five or six leaves from the main plant. This not only keeps them tidy, it also encourages them to produce flowering spurs to give you a particularly fabulous display next spring.
