Control bindweed

This pernicious weed should be tackled now. Do not allow it to flower (and then set seed). Trace plants back and dig out every piece of root you can see. Or apply a strong systemic glyphosate weedkiller (such as Weedol or Tumbleweed) to leaves ; but do not get it onto cultivated plants.
