Raspberry Glen Lyon
Description: Glen Lyon is a early-mid season variety that produces large, long, firm intensely sweet flavoured red berries. The fruits have an excellent shelf life, can be eaten fresh from the bush or cooked into sweet dishes, Raspberry jams, Raspberry gin or frozen. Lyon has good disease resistance to aphid virus, cane botrytis & leaf spot virus. The canes are less spiny than others.
History: Originated from Scotland
Raspberry Growing Tips: Thrive in moisture-retentive, fertile, slightly acidic soils which are well-drained. Prefer being planted in sunny sheltered locations, although they will tolerate partial shade. Regular pruning will result in healthier and better quality plants. All varieties are self fertile and are pollinated by insects.
