Fragaria × ananassa 'Honeoye'
Strawberry 'Honeoye' is a popular early-season variety, known for its heavy crops and reliable garden performance. The bright red berries are firm, glossy and full of classic strawberry flavour, making them ideal for fresh eating, freezing or preserving.
This vigorous variety establishes quickly and produces generous yields in early summer. Best planted from late July to mid-August, or in March, April and May, it thrives in well-drained soil in a sunny position. Earlier planting will reward you with stronger plants and heavier crops the following season.
Remove the first flowers after planting to help young plants develop strong roots and leafy growth, ensuring improved fruiting in future harvests.
