Skimmia japonica 'Finchy' is a compact, evergreen shrub with a neat, rounded habit and glossy green foliage. In spring, this male variety produces dense clusters of fragrant white flowers, preceded by green buds that add winter interest. Though it does not form berries, it plays an essential role as a pollinator for female Skimmia cultivars, ensuring they produce their characteristic red fruits.
